Olympia Day Trip
Your driver will pick you up at your accommodation and drive you to Peloponnesus peninsula, in the south of Greece. First stop, the Corinth Canal, an engineering marvel whose construction began in the late 19th century. We’ll make a 30-minute stop there, so you can snap some pictures and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Olympia is the most important sanctuary of the ancient world and birthplace of the Olympic Games, which were first held in 776 B.C. in honor of the god Zeus.
Some of the most popular sights in Olympia are the temples of Zeus and Hera, and the Stadium with an impressive capacity of 45,000. And, of course, the museum, with the world-renowned statue of Hermes.
You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine, before we head back to Athens.
